Apprentice Precision Engineer

What you’ll do and learn:
- Read drawings and understand dimensioning and tolerances.
- Set and program CNC milling machines and turning centres for production of precision-made components to drawings.
- Use of manual mill and lathe and other hand-operated equipment.
- Maintain a clean and well-organised work area and keep equipment and tooling in a good working condition.
- Maintain quality and accuracy of the machined product by carrying out checks and inspection by using the full range of available measuring instruments.
- Produce components within the agreed standard time and suggest improved alternative methods of manufacture.
Skills and personal qualities required:
Computer literate, good communication skills. Willingness to learn in both formal and job settings is necessary. A solutions-orientated outlook and a positive approach to problem solving is also necessary. Focused on continuous improvement.
Qualifications required:
English and Maths GCSE at grade A* to C or equivalent is required. Other Science or Resistant Materials GCSEs advantageous.
Reality Check:
Health and safety is paramount and the employee manual must be adhered to at all times.
You will be expected to travel to Culham and High Wycombe throughout the duration of your course on a block release basis of four weeks at the training centre followed by four weeks in our factory. Please ensure the commute is feasible and you are able to travel to both.

Job Opportunity Driver, Labourer, and Cleaning Role
Responsibilities:
As a versatile team member, you will be responsible for:
1. Driving:
- Safely operating the company van to transport finished goods to our partner companies.
2. Labouring:
- Assisting with general tasks in the factory and around the site. This may include moving raw materials and finished components.
- Handling loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
- Supporting our engineers with various tasks.
3. Cleaning:
Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness in the workshop and office areas.
Regularly cleaning and sanitizing common spaces and restrooms.
Disposing of waste and following proper recycling practices.
